LEARNING TO LEARN
Experts believe that different types of people learn, think and remember things
in different ways.
You are going to listen to the psychologist Dr. Silbersky discussing different
ways of learning.
a) Look at the question in your Practice Book then listen and write down your
answers.
b) Listen again and write down one strategy that can help the three different
types of learner. Write your answers in your Practice Book.
c) Work with a partner and discuss other useful ways of studying that could
help these three types of learner. Write your answers in your Practice Book.
TASK 3
READING
You are going to read about the other four types of learning styles that Dr.
Silbersky mentioned during Task 2.
a) Before you read, talk to your partner and try to guess what the other four
styles might be. Quickly read (skim) the text to check if you were correct.
b) Now match the headings in your Practice Book to each paragraph in the
text.
c) Use the text to find a word for each of the meanings in your Practice Book.
d) Read the text again to answer the questions in your Practice Book.
