We usually put these general opinion adjectives before specific opinion
                  adjectives.
       FAMOUS STORIES

That was a nice, tasty meal.
What a strange, uncomfortable chair. TOPIC 18
                                                It’s a nice, friendly cat.

Opinion adjectives come before adjectives which are descriptive.

That’s a beautiful red Ferrari. MY FAVOURITE THINGS
I think it’s an important British landmark.
What a nasty old brown dog.

                                                     TASK 6

                                                       SPEAKING

                  a) Read through the questions in your Practice Book and check you understand all
                     of the vocabulary.

                  b) The questions are all about a story called The New Planet, but the details of the
story have to be invented by you!

Work with a partner and invent the details of the story. Don’t write down any
of your details at this point.

                  c) You are now going to swap partners and retell the story you have invented.
Ask each other for further explanation or more information if you can.

                                                     TASK 7

                                                        WRITING

                  a) Using the ideas from Task 6 and any further ideas you gathered from your
discussions, you will now write your story.

Be as creative as possible and try to use detailed descriptions to enhance your
story. Write between 200-250 words in your Practice Book.

Remember to check your spelling, punctuation and grammar for mistakes at the
                     end.
