LISTENING
THE BIG EVENT
a) You are going to hear four people describing the best events they have ever
been to. Decide which of the events you would like to attend.
b) Listen again and complete the chart with each person’s information. Fill in the
information in the Practice Book.
c) Look at the sentences from the listening in your Practice Book. Can you
remember the correct word or phrase to complete each sentence?
d) Listen again to check your answers.
TASK 4
SPEAKING
a) You are going to tell your classmates about a memorable event that you have
been to and find out about events that they have attended. Use the questions
below to plan your speaking.
n What was the event? (e.g. festival, sporting event, religious event)
n Where did it take place? (country, area, stadium)
n When did you go to this event?
n What made the event so memorable for you?
n Some extra details (the weather, something interesting that happened, how
you got there, how often the event happens etc.)
Make notes using the space in your Practice Book.
b) Now talk to four of your classmates and tell them about your memorable
event. Find out about your classmates’ experiences and use the table in your
Practice Book to record their answers.
c) Go back to your seat and share what you learnt with the people next to you.
Which of the events that you learnt about would you like to attend in future?
TASK 5
WRITING AND SPEAKING
You are going to create your own event.
Work in a group of 3 or 4 people and discuss the questions in your Practice Book.
Make notes in your Practice Book.
When you have done this, share your ideas with another group.
