QUALITY ASSURANCE
5.1 Methods of Evaluation for Teaching & Learning
Enhancing the Standards of Teaching and Learning
There are numerous internal quality mechanisms used in evaluating and improving the quality and
standards of learning.
The English Course delivery should be overseen by an individual / committee which is responsible for
managing overall quality standards.
Where appropriate, we suggest an exam board should be formed, comprising of relevant academic
staff and experts. This will be responsible for considering the progress of all students and making
awards in accordance with the specific regulations set up.
Equal Opportunities
The admission of students with disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties (including mental health
issues) is based on the academic criteria for entry and the appropriateness of the facilities and
accessibility and the expectation that the student will fulfil the requirements of the English Course.
Assurance of Teaching Quality
Peer review and colleague-student consultative groups and the boards are key to the assurance and
enhancement of teaching quality on the English Course.
Feedback, Evaluation & Representation
All students, through the anonymous student evaluation procedure, are asked to provide information
about issues and matters related to their learning experience and the modules delivered in the English
Course. Students views are sought through module and course evaluation questionnaires.
Annual Monitoring and Review
The annual monitoring and periodic review of the English Course will be carried out every year and
recommendations will be submitted to Imperial English UK.
Indicators of Quality and Standards
The English Course will be reviewed annually in the following areas:
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Student Progression and Achievement
Student Feedback, Support and Guidance
