also really noticed the smell in the air, which was a mix of the
salt from the sea and the chlorine from the swimming pool.
We checked in to our hotel and took our luggage to the room.
We were very lucky to have a room with a stunning view. We
could see all the way down to the beach over the white
rooftops. As we were so excited, we decided to go straight to
the city centre to look around. There was a small market in
the square and Iots of food stalls, which I had read about in a
guide book. I bought some traditional cakes from one old
lady. They were delicious, but too sweet for me. There were
also musicians playing typical Greek music. I had never
heard Greek music before so we sat and watched them
before going back to the hotel. I remember it like it was
yesterday…
