             Assessment                    Monitor question formation and sentence structures during
                                           speaking. Note any good phrases and uses of language.

                                           conclusions to the group.

             Skill                         Writing and Speaking

             Time                          25 mins
                                           Tell the class that they are going to organise their own event.
                                           Organise the class into groups of 3 or 4 and give them 20
                                           minutes to plan their event using the questions in their Practice
             Teaching Tips                 Book to help.
                                           After planning each group will present their event to the class.
                                           You could make this competitive and see which event/group
                                           would get the most attendance.

             Assessment                    Monitor to check ideas make sense. Note good use of language
                                           or errors for feedback after presentations.
             Optional Extra /              Groups make a poster or brochure for their event.

                                          At the end of the lesson ask students what the lesson has
                                          covered and write this on the board.
             Review                       This helps to check for understanding and highlight the key
                                          information.
                                          Complete Can-Do statements where relevant.
