P. 3
Ali: I think it’s a bit unfair really, as sometimes we don’t know
the words and you just need to ask someone a question
quickly. I know we should try and speak in English, but
sometimes it is difficult.
Dani: Yeah I agree with you.
Ali: The most important rule for me is about respecting each
other.
Dani: Yeah absolutely. I think everyone has to take turns in
discussions otherwise it will be the same people talking all
the time. And the rule about everyone participating in group
work. I have been in a group before and some people do
nothing and still get the marks.
Ali: I think they are good rules, but it is easier said than done.
I think if the teacher can enforce these rules it will make
people work harder.
Dani: I don’t like the fact we are not allowed to use our
phones in group work.
Ali: Why?
Dani: It is so much easier to use a phone to check words
than a dictionary, or look up information on the Internet.
Much quicker.
Ali: Yeah I suppose so. I think if we were allowed to use
phones a lot of people would talk less to each other and not
pay attention to what is happening in the meeting. I actually
think this is a good rule.
