Teaching Tips Give students some time to look through the Grammar Key in
their Course Book.
Assessment Elicit examples from the text of past simple and past
continuous structures. Write these on the board.
When I was at university I studied English. We had written
assignments and grammar tests every week, and a big
project to give in at the end of the year. The teachers were
very strict about meeting the deadlines and submitting
homework on time.
Answers At that time they were building a new library as it was very
small! It was very noisy and I found it hard to concentrate so
I did a lot of self-study at home. I enjoyed some of my
course but it was a bit boring at times as I didn’t socialise a
lot and make many friends.
