Task 5
Skill Speaking and Grammar
Time 15 mins
Give students some time to read through the Grammar Key
in their Course Book.
Put useful grammar and language on the board to help.
Compare with present simple to help highlight the difference.
Teaching Tips
You could do an example with the class to help explain the
activity. Have everyone mingle and work with different
partners.
Read sentences and have the class repeat, checking
pronunciation and intonation patterns. Refer back to
students’ sentences from previous speaking tasks to highlight
grammar use.
Assessment Ask the class for their own example sentences.

Monitor and listen for correct use of grammar in speaking.
Make it more challenging by choosing people in your class or
Optional Extra / Extension celebrities to ask questions about.
Additionally, the class could make their own version of the
game by drawing their own pictures.
Task 6
Skill Grammar
Time 10-15 mins
Highlight the use of contractions in the example sentences
and encourage students to use this in their own writing and
speaking.
Allow students time to read their sentences with a partner

before whole class feedback.
For more practice, students can use their Grammar Practice
Book.
Monitor writing and use of Present Continuous and negative
forms.
Assessment
Check pronunciation and correct with class where necessary.
